In October 2019 it was announced that Noel Furlong (Carrigtwohill) would be appointed Cork Minor Hurling Manager in 2021. His selectors will be David Dorgan (Fr. O’Neills), Ger O’Regan (St. Finbarr’s), Niall McCarthy (Carrigtwohill) and Wesley O’ Brien (Carrigaline). This management team has been approved for a 1-year term as they progress from Fé15 and Fé16 level in 2019 and 2020, respectively.

At minor hurling, Noel Furlong's hurlers take on Clare in the quarter-final and then Limerick if they progress, the same sequence last year's squad had.

Out in 2 weeks, anyone know how they shaping up?

Galway absolutely hammered Limerick last night in the 2020 semi final. That Lk team hammered Cork at the tail end of last year.
Just shows ya how far off the mark we were

Galway win the 2020 minor championship against Kilkenny, very enjoyable game.
That's 4 in a row for them now at Minor, never been done before. You'd have to wonder how they aren't transferring that to Senior in some shape or form. If any county can take off in the next few years, it's Galway imo

Thanks for the heads up on that one. With this blasted Covid thing, I'm losing track of what's happening.

With the demise of the U15 Carrigdhoun/Teddy Hanley tournament that i used to go to, ive no idea what kinda team this is. One or two names stand out from last year like Buckley and O'Connor from the Barrs. You would expect us to beat Clare though but you'd never know

Going well so far, a bit of rust at times but what a joy to watch Cork young fellas taking clean catches all over the field. A bit of old school Cork arrogance about these boyos, very confident in what they do. (2-7 to 5 points HT)

Winning 2-9 to 0-5 at HT. Well in control.
I'm listening to Clare FM so the bits I've picked up are that the Cork forwards are very lively, Cork are physically bigger (every foreign radio station says that about us) and very economical. Interestingly, they said that the centre back, Ben O Connor, is a clone of his club mate Ronan Curran. Jack Leahy at FF has 2-4

Ref is a dickhead, stopping quick puck outs all the time. A pet hate of mine, allows no physical stuff either.

I feel sorry for Clare, that's a complete humiliation, shooting practice for Cork.
Accomplished performance it looks like, play Limerick in the next round in 2 weeks.
6-28 to 0-6

No sympathy, we'd get fuck all sympathy from any of them if we were on the receiving end. They'd be crowing at us.

Cork 6-28; Clare 0-6

Jack Leahy 3-5 from play, Adam Walsh coming on as a sub and scoring 2 goals, ditto Ross O'Sullivan 1-4.

I don't think Clare had any players from last year, so this was more or less a complete new team for them.

Done!

Even though Clare were poor, I'll still enjoy the result. So many Cork matches are so close that it's bad for the heart. Nice to get an easy ride for once.

I wonder if the sub goalie, Dylan Costine of Cloyne, is in any way related to Donal Og. The maiden name of Donal Og's mother was Costine.

Yeah. That Cork team conceded two soft goals if I recall and never recovered. This team seems to have more swagger. They will surely be buoyed by the display against Clare. A win today and with the u20s tomorrow would be great going into the senior game at weekend.

Our shooting is absolutely crazy, looking for the glory point from miles out the field. Wanna sort that,i don't think one single ball has gone into our FF line. Limerick totally different preposition here

They need to settle down and start passing the ball instead of pot shots. They all went over v Clare but not against better opposition.

Much better 2nd quarter. Settled into it. HB line winning nearly everything including LK puck outs. O Connor is a beast at centre back, great hand in him as do a few others.
I still think there's more space inside the LK backs for Cork to exploit. In other words, I can see goals. Work it in and less pot shots from outfield.
Cork beginning to bully LK, big strong team. Only problem is that the ref thinks he's reffing u10s so most physical contact is a free. Refs like this lad give me the hump
