Blarney 0-22, Fermoy 1-14. The switch of Shane Barrett in the second half changed the game i heard
Killeagh 2-16, Cloyne 1-14
Kanturk 1-21, Bandon 0-14. Thats a big win for Kanturk. They'll go close

Just watched Blarney V Kanturk, a game that I thought would be a cracker. This game was played mostly in the middle third of the field which was crowded with little or no open play. There was a lot of very talented young players from both sides playing tonight in this game, but their coaches from the tactics deployed, ensured that these players would be unable to express their undoubted talents and flair. This game was totally suffocated by these coaches and was very drab to watch.

I saw the Examiner stream, too. I thought the handling in it was extremely poor. A lot of dropped passes and failed pick ups. However it was exciting because it was so close and the Kanturk goal was a good one.

Yeah it doesn't look great for Cloyne. Fr O'Neills in their last game who look strong. Probably between themselves and Ballyhea for relegation.

I see Donal Óg still playing in goal for Cloyne. I'd guess he's 44 now

Final on Sunday before the Senior Final,

Kanturk v Fr O'Neills. 2 rising clubs. Kanturk flying at all levels, really impressive club, fair play to them in both codes. I cant see if Deccy Dalton and Ger MEllerick are back for O'Neills, they missed last weeks win. ID guess MEllerick is longer term (hamstring from AI semi final) so Dalton might be back.

I cant call this one. Fuck, draw!

Kanturk win 3-17 to 2-13. Good game.
Kanturk are riding the crest of a wave. They've Cork and ex Cork players in both codes all over the pitch. I expect them to do well at Premier Senior. Their main players stood up, Lorcan, Aidan Walsh, Darren Browne. That 18 Walsh lad at FF got 3 goal. Give him a S&C programme for 2 years and he's a serious option for Cork senior.

Deccy Dalton has a broken foot and didn't play. Ger Mellerick only came on as a sub. Too much to overcome although they fought hard all through

From the Echo

KANTURK'S GOLDEN AGE:

Having emerged from the junior hurling ranks in 2003 without capturing the county when the Cork GAA redrew the grades, Kanturk have developed a winning habit across the last decade: hurling silverware in 2013, 2017 and last Sunday. And flying the flag for dual players, they've also lifted football counties in 2011 and 2017, with a shot at another double the weekend after next, a PIFC Duhallow derby with Newmarket.

Veterans Aidan Walsh and Lorcán McLoughlin were extremely prominent against Fr O'Neill's, as they had been in every big game across the last decade. Incredible servants to their club, they hurled so well in Páirc Uí Chaoimh the Irish Examiner streaming crew picked between them for Man of the Match.

McLoughlin's excellence in hoovering up possession across the middle third edged out Walsh's haul of 0-5 from play, though 18-year-old Colin Walsh can consider himself pretty unlucky to be overlooked after his hat-trick!
Key for Kanturk was the balance to their team, Brian O'Sullivan, Ryan Walsh, captain Darren Browne and Liam O'Keeffe all shone too. With Frankie Flannery coaching them, they were well drilled in every sector.

Fr O'Neill's suffered back-to-back SAHC final losses but there's no doubt the loss of Deccie Dalton to injury, with Ger Millerick not fit enough to start, meant they were up against it before a sliotar was pucked.

2 rounds played already, Fermoy, Fr O'Neills and Bride Rovers top of the groups.

Saturday games, all 7 o clock

Blarney V Courcey Rovers. Winner takes all game it looks like
Bride Rovers V Ballymartle
Carrigtwohill V Ballyhea
Fr O Neills V Killeagh

Mallow V Fermoy
Newcestown V Cloyne. These last 2 games here will determine the 2 that go through, might come down to points difference? If Newcestown win, Mallow HAVE to win as well.
