Cork U20 Football
Cork play will meet Kerry, with the other four counties on the other side of the draw.
Worst draw possible.

Playing Kerry in the semi final on Thursday night, live on tg4. Cork won the U17 2 years ago so they're a full year out from being all u20, but I'm sure we'll see lots featured in tonight's team announcement

Re: Cork U20 Football
Don't forget that Kerry gave these lads the father and mother of a 'bating' in Pairc Ui Rinn 1st time out and beat them again before Cork escaped through the round robin system going on to win the cup with Corbett's wonder goal in the last kick of the final v Galway.
As you say, it will be very interesting to see who is now fit and well. I heard that lawton is injured but that was a while back. I thought Ryan O Donovan Barryroe was most unlucky not to start in that final but no argument that Ml.O Neill was a shoe in. I hope O Donovan makes it to the U20 team.

Re: Cork U20 Football
Cork U20 team manager Keith Ricken has announced his team to play Kerry in Munster Semi-Final on Thursday @7:30pm in Páirc Uí Chaoimh.
Gavin Creedon, Kilshannig
Colm O Donovan, Newcestown
Diarmaid Phelan, Agahad
Conor McGoldrick, Eire Óg
Adam Walsh-Murphy, Valley Rovers
Tommy Walsh, Kanturk
Darragh Cashman, Millstreet
Brian Hayes (Captain), St. Finbarrs
Evan Cooke, Ballincollig
Conor Corbett, Clyda Rovers
Jack Cahalane, Castlehaven
Niall Hartnett, Douglas
Dara Dorgan, Ballincollig
Colin Walsh, Kanturk
David Buckley (Vice Captain), Newcestown
Cian O Leary, Douglas
Neil Lordan, Ballinora
Darragh Holland, Argideen Rangers
Luke Horgan, Nemo Rangers
Ciaran O Sullivan, Kilshannig
Eoghan Nash, Douglas
Sean O Sullivan, Adrigole
Conor O Hanlon, Buttevant
Sean McDonnell, Mallow
Additional players on the panel
Seamus O Sullivan,Newcestown
Tadhg O Donoghue,Carrig na bFhear
Kelan Scannell,Carbery Rangers
Adam Murphy,Aghabullogue
Darren Daly,O Donovan Rossa
Jack Kelleher,Canovee
Dan Peet,Clonakilty
Ryan O Donovan,Barryroe
Daniel Linehan,Castlemagner
Evan Dodd,Canovee
Michael O Neill,Buttevant
Cian O Donovan,Glanmire
I count 5 from the AI Minor winning team from 2019 on the starting 15 - Adam Walsh-Murphy, Darragh Cashman, Conor Corbett,
Jack Cahalane and Niall Hartnett. Cahalane, who is a busy man switching codes, came on as a sub in that final.
Theres a few more scattered among the subs and additional panel members.
Twould be great to send Kerry packing in this
Declan O'Sullivan is over Kerry. I would assume he's an astute football brain on the line

Re: Cork U20 Football
That's 36 young footballers ready for action.
A few lads there that are new to me, starting with the keeper Creedon from Kilshannig, who hasn't appeared as a sub keeper anywhere AFAIK.
Corner back McGoldrick is another springer. He wasn't even on the subs bench with Eire Og two years ago v Templenoe and I haven't heard anything about him.
Colin Walsh Kanturk must be in the David Clifford mould as he is keeping Conor O Hanlon Buttevant off the team. O Hanlon was outstanding last December in the minor game v Kerry which we lost in extra time. He's probably too young but his day will come for sure. Colin Walsh was No 11 that night and scored 4 points from play so he's not too young or neither is Tommy who was No 6 that night.
My man Ryan O Donovan only gets into the honourable mention column but Barryroe isn't a hot bed of gaelic football so I expect he has taken to the camán as his main sport.
Can't see David Buckley Newcestown playing as a No 15. He will travel the pitch looking to support others and is a mighty workhorse.
His club mate Colm O Donovan is new to me also but coming from Newcestown we can be sure the Kerry No 15 will have a few lumps at the end.
With Ricken in charge and playing at home I'd expect this team to win.

Need to start putting scores on the board while on top, not doing it so far. Youd expect Kerry dominance at some point and theyll no doubt score

I could see it coming. All the football played to be two points down. Lots of stupid shit going on from MF up, dropped ball, wides, post etc. Our full back line wide open

Re: Cork U20 Football
Jack Cahalane and Walsh FF 2 weak links so far, too soft going for the ball and too casual on it. Walsh especially needs to toughen up.

Re: Cork U20 Football
I think Cahalane is doing well, scored and created a goal.
Good game. Cork have to work harder for scores cause the purists of Gaelic Football are putting 12 men behind the 45 and are fouling out around there. Meanwhile they're catching us on the break and exploiting the space in front of the 2 man FF line. That space needs to be closed.
We're well in this but so many times over the years we've been in the exact same position against them and Kerry manage to sneak a 2/3 point win in the way to another AI title.
Up to our lads now to avoid the usual shit and drive on

Re: Cork U20 Football
Much better from Jack Cahalane, Walsh replaced relatively quickly, tough on the young fella but not at the races. Has all the physical gifts but not aggressive enough or decisive enough. Corbett showing his class too. Should be with the seniors (or maybe not, McCarthy and Co. could destroy him).
Young Phelan from Aghada looks a good bit of stuff. No nonsense type of player who who can dish it and take it, good on the ball and knows when to use it. Need to tighten up the middle of our defense (usual weakness with Cork GAA teams).

Keep the heads now, no stupid shit in defence, tap over a few points in the meantime and we win

Keep the middle nice and tight no runners coming through, hit them on the break plenty room for the forwards to take on their men.

That roar at the final whistle (after the obligatory extra minute added on to added time the enable Kerry to get a draw) was worth the wait.
