I't time this thread was started to broaden the appeal of this forum.

Back in the early days of LGF in Cork, my brother was a referee (I once had to do an umpire job for him!) and before that he was coach to a camogie club.

LGF League Division 1 result.

Cork 5-11; Donegal 0-1

Cork's results in the league have been indifferent of late, so, hopefully this signals a resurgence.

The Cork minor camogie team began the defence of their All-Ireland title with a win.

Cork LGF team concluded their league with a win over Kerry, by 1-17 to 2-6, alas too late.

Cork beat Meath by 3 points in their Ladies NFL, Division 1, Round 7 meeting at Pairc Ui Rinn.

Cork shot themselves in the foot with numerous wides against a more physical Galway in the Camogie League final. This is the second year in a row they have lost the league final to Galway, having also lost the All-Ireland final last year to Kilkenny.

Cork return to the All-Ireland final with a hard-earned victory over Galway. Like the quarter-final against Kilkenny they had to overcome the concession of goals when they looked to be pulling away. A good sign of a team to keep going despite those setbacks. They now meet Waterford, who have already beaten them this year,  in the final.

Cork are out of the 2023 Ladies Senior Football Championship after a frustrating loss to Dublin in the semi-final. Five missed goal chance (three saves by the Dublin goalkeeper) and about ten wides made it an impossible task under the circumstances. However, a contrast in application was the biggest difference for me. Dublin gave Cork no respite throughout the field and throughout the game. Ever Cork kickout was contested by them, while Cork put no pressure at all on the Dublin restarts. Workrate has to change if Cork are ever again to win the football championship.

Cork leading at half time in the Senior Camogie final against Waterford, 1-9 to 0-3.

Waterford are stronger physically than Cork and like terriers at a bone. Cork were lucky when a last minute penalty in the first half to Waterford was driven wide.

Three quick goals inside the first six minutes of the second half made a difficult task for Waterford an impossible one. Amy O’Connor scored 3-2 from play. Cork are now 3 positions ahead of Dublin on the All-Ireland table.

In the other semi-final, Galway beat Tipperary 1-12 to 1-11.

Undoubtedly Cork were in the weaker side of the semis. Dublin are improving but they have some way to go yet before challenging for All-Irelands again.

Laura Hayes again outstanding! I was impressed with Aoife Healy in midfield. Looks a little unorthodox but is a serious athlete! Amazing dual talent!!

Great All-Ireland final win by the Cork Intermediates against Kilkenny, 1-11 to 1-10.

Cork dug in ferociously after several setbacks, including a flukey goal by Kilkenny in the second half which put Kilkenny 2 points ahead. If ever a win was well-deserved, it was this one.

Galway must be delighted with the Cork tactics, fooling around with short handpasses instead of a fast ball into the full forward line. Galway are really up for this.

Cork complete the double as the seniors beat Galway by 1-16 to 0-16 to win Cork their 30th all-Ireland title and draw level with their senior hurling counterparts.
