Limerick beat Tipperary in the minor final today after extra time, 2-22 to 0-25.
Them 2 obviously a good bit ahead of Cork and the others in Munster. Need to up our game

Twomey, Calahane and Quirke all make way for the subs that turned the game the last day. Its good to see that lads can play their way onto the team. A real test now for these players. Here's hoping.

A small bit of a tonic during the pandemic. I thought Tipp had more possession overall, but Cork did more with what little they had. The backs are a worry. Eoin Davis undoubtedly won the game for us with a series of point blank saves. Glad to hear Pat Ryan say that Cork won't win the final without an improvement on tonight's display.
Was that the Tipperary manager acting the bear with O'Regan at the end? And what was the reason for it?
To answer my own question: No, I wrong the man. It was, apparently, the Tipperary sub-goalkeeper.

Re: Inter-county Minor Hurling Championship/Under-20 Hurling Championship
Looks like I posted in the wrong thread at HT.
But who cares?!!
The importance of that win cannot be overstated. We 100% needed that. I think Cork were the better team but couldnt pull more than 2 points ahead. Then when twas tied up late on, we pushed on with the goal and a few points. The management yet again not afraid to use the subs bench, off comes Aaron Connolly first (who's the back up free taker in the forwards though???)
Impressive from the Cork keeper, the backs in general, that lad Joyce at centre back has something about him, Shane Barrett continues to impress, Shane O Regan made a big difference when he came on, threw himself about and won a few frees, and Brian O Sullivan made the goal and won a few balls, he's still minor, as is Jack Cahalane.
Overall a very enjoyable evening from Cork hurling, and God knows we've suffered enough. Well done to all involved

The management are getting a lot of praise, but they took off the main free-taker and without a proper sub-free-taker, that cost us a few points. Near the end, just after Jack Cahalane had scored his goal, he was fouled out on the right-hand side. He stood up holding out the ball, waiting foe someone to come and take the free. But no one came. In fact the other players retreated inside and left him alone with it. In fairness to Jack, he put it straight between the posts from an awkward angle.

Re: Inter-county Minor Hurling Championship/Under-20 Hurling Championship
Ya I would say the same. If there's one small thing that they need to look at for the final its the free taking situation.
Once Connolly went off, who was the close in free taker? Connery was on the long range ones and while he nailed one, he was wild with a few others, both from frees and play.
Basically, we had no plan B for the frees, they are so important in today's game. That's something that needs to be sorted. Do I recall Tommy O Connell on them last year?

Tommy O'Connell was on them against Limerick, but was taken off them after he had missed about three out of four.

THE draw has taken place for the Munster minor and U20 hurling and football championships this summer.
While the delayed U20 All-Ireland hurling final from 2020 featuring Cork against Galway or Dublin isn't scheduled until July 10/11, Pat Ryan and his selectors will move straight onto the 2021 series after.

Surprise there. I didn't see it so don't know how good or bad Dublin are. But they are Leinster champions.
You have to say that is a good result for Cork as long as they treat Dublin with total respect and don't get complacent

Expectation will be higher again now. Dublin also have had a tough championship game in their locker. We obviously have not and no amount of training can make up for that. I have no doubt we don't do infamous A V B games a la Kilkenny so nothing should be taken for granted on the 11th July.

The financial doping that has allowed Team AIG to hoover up All-Ireland titles in football is now starting to also take effect in hurling. This won't be an easy game for Cork, I couldn't stand to lose any hurling match to that crowd.
