Re: Premier Senior Football Championship
Barrs win by a point. 0-14 to 0-13. Game picked up in the second, some good scores. Maguire best player in view. Sherlock was well marked by Thomás Clancy but kicked the winner from play.

You should have mentioned a lad named Murnane 'tipp'. He gave some display of being unfair today, whether by design or accident?
He gave Barrs a tap over near the end to draw it I think which defies reasoning. He gave them another one out of defence near the end
as well which wasn't even related to a free.
I agree that Maguire was No 1 man and hopefully he will run through Kerry like he did today. Sherlock isn't related to an intercounty
forward and missed a few handy frees as well today.

Re: Premier Senior Football Championship
Couldn’t agree with you about Sherlock Ranty at all, he kicked 3 from play more then any other player despite being well marked as you say and the minute he got that last ball the entire crowd new hit was going over, a sign of a top forward, he had a quiet first half by his standard but he showed up big time when required and in essence was the difference between the teams, clon will have to go back to the transfer window for a few more forwards.
He certainly deserves a recall to cork as we have few forwards inside even close to him for accuracy. All season he has been marked by the best defenders we have and ends up as top scorer and kicks the winner under pressure kicks the winner in Injury time to win a county……I’d say your in a minority of one who thinks he shouldn’t get another chance at least and imo he will
Offer something to cork next year better then at least half of the forwards who started in killarney

Re: Premier Senior Football Championship
I hope you are right Sean and I'll be the happiest stupid this side of Ceim an Fíath if he delivers on his undoubted talent in a red jersey.
I first saw him in red at underage up the country ( Tullamore I think) where he did something rare for a Cork footballer. He let a head high ball pass him by while his marker was stuck to him and turned to collect the liathróid in his bachall in a jiffy. I can't remember if he scored or not, but it was a delightful bit of quick thinking. After that I have watched his progress and until this year I haven't seen anything other than an odd flash of good kicking. I did see him easily marked and bullied out of it by handy defenders so I wrote him off.
As I said, I hope you are right but will withhold judgement a wee bit longer until we see how he performs against the big boys at intercounty. He may well be a late developer and I'll be happy to hold up my hands and say I was wrong about that decent Barrsman.

Article by Cormican confirming his recall to the red jersey.
As somebody said on another forum, he'd have to be an improvement on Connolly.
I also note on watching the highlights on Youtube that he has worked on his left leg.
I thought initially that he was totally one sided and that didn't wash with me.
Some good coaching in Togher IMHO.

They have to look at him. Just kicked his club to the county. New management and all that. Makes sense to me

Started up last night with divisions
Carbery 2-18, Imokilly 1-10
Avondhu 3-10, Beara 0-14
I think there's backdoor in these

Re: Premier Senior Football Championship
That's a calamity, I would have thought if they got their act together they would have had a fair team and could have been a dark horse for the county - Dineen, Jones, Vaughan, Corkery, Ring, Ó Luasa, Bradley, Ó Deasúna - obviously a few of them out with county involvement at the moment, but surely there's lads out there playing for clubs that will never be senior that should be very keen to test themselves at a higher level? The divisions are something almost unique to Cork and its sad to see them in such a state, bar a couple of exceptions.

Haven beat Clon 10 to 1-5. A terrible spectacle although the Hurleys kicked a few lovely scores. Clon very defensive and very lightweight up front. Mark White playing fly keeper is often their most likely source of creativity. They'll probably need to beat Nemo now to get out of that group, can't see it happening on tonight's evidence.

They don't look like a team that can beat anybody. I'm sorry I didn't spend my €8 in a pub or sweet shop.
Listening to that Mulcahy lad doing the commentary is painful. Where do they get these lads?
John Hayes kicking in with analysis every minute didn't soften the blow either. Kept repeating his lines over and over.
The long and the short of it as far as I'm concerned is I won't spend another € to watch and listen to this drivel.

Re: Premier Senior Football Championship
Saturday results
Nemo Rangers 3-13, Castlehaven 1-16
Mallow, 2-11, Valley Rovers 0-7
Watched the highlights of Nemo Haven on Twitter, just the scores. Id say there were about 20 current or ex Cork players on the pitch. Luck Connolly sealed the game with a great goal. I see a fella on Proc calling for him to be brought back into the Cork set up. We've been there already, sorry but no

Douglas pulled that outta the fire yest. Huge boost to have Powter back, and the word around was Brian Hartnett expected back soon enough as well - with Mallow thru already it makes for an interesting last rd of games
That said thought it was nowhere near the standard of Nemo & Castlehaven - apart from the last kick of the game
