Sarsfields 1-15, Blackrock 0-15.
Very poor match i thought, from Amhrán na bhFiann failing half way through to the Rockies shooting which was woeful. Limp

Imokilly hammered Douglas 1-29 to 1-15

So the semi finals are

Imokilly v Sarsfields
St Finbarrs v Midleton

Halfway through? It barely got started!

A lot of wides by Blackrock proved costly, but I thought Sarsfields were the slicker team throughout.

And yes, the Imokilly Behomoth rolls on.

I see on PROC, one St Finbarrs supporter complaining that the Barrs were "playing against 16 men" on Saturday because the referee was from Midleton. His complaint that the referee should have been from a club they weren't going to be playing in the next match is, perhaps, valid, but I think his claim of bias is not. I've almost never seen this at adult level matches, although there is sometimes a little of it in juvenile games, where the referee is usually from the home team

There isn't an unlimited number of refs in the county that can officiate at the highest club level. His argument is invalid for me

Ref was bad for both teams but I'd say Charleville have more reason to be annoyed, there was one passage in the first half where they should've had three frees and got none. Not that it overly mattered in the end, Charleville fell away very disappointingly but perhaps not unexpected given the players they were missing. I'd predict Barrs and Imokilly to come through the semi finals.

Semi Finals on Sunday down the Páirc

Sars V Imokilly @ 2. Ill go Imokilly as i suggested way back that they were strong
St Finbarrs V Midleton. Dont think Barrs are firing on all cylinders this year as opposed to last year, completely reliant on Cunningham frees.

Id also fancy imokilly midleton final... been saying imokilly for the overall all year but would be great for cork hurling for midleton to do it with all their young talent coming through

Disappointing games on Sunday I felt - neither ignited.

Sars were gone, and got a soft free and somehow got the goal.  I kinda Stokes kept them in it.  Imokilly were going to tire in extra time - Denis Ring coulda used his bench - isn’t it all about developing players ? apparently.   Cathal McCarthy had a stormer in ET - I think he’s played as a forward for SArs before - he won it for them - 5 points some return in ET.  Not too upset to see Imokilly go out - any team that has the pick of 10/11 clubs (200 plus players) should be playing against other divisions  (not clubs) more than half those players have 3 co medals already
If Killian Murphy is out for final, he’s a big loss, Sweeney less so, plenty of hurling in Hackett & Healy on bench even if they don’t have his height.  I think Jack OConnor will have to have a huge game if Sars to overcome Midleton.  he has the potential to,put them away.

Midleton & Barr’s another flat tense game - Lehane slow to start thundered into it- some great individual cameos at times - William Buckley is some stylist, and has some turn of pace.  By far the best Barr’s player on the day. Conor Cahalane should have walked for that pull on Beausang - Brian Hayes spurned a lot of chances, the game was there for Barr’s to win it but they stuttered and stumbled.
I think Midleton will have the edge over Sars esp if they can contain Jack OConnor and if they have the hunger

Sars got the rub of the green last weekend though so maybe it might be their year
Midleton for me though

Sarsfields 0-21, Midleton 0-19. I'd say Midleton thought they had it early on in the second half but fair play to Sarsfields, they trapped into the Teddy Mac factor and finished powerfully afyer taking over. They probably deserved it. Cathal McCarthy was excellent
They play Ballygunner in 3 weeks I believe

Sarsfields V Ballygunner at Walsh Park on Sunday at 1.30pm.

Corks record in this is absolutely shambolic in the past 20 years and it aint changing anytime soon, Ballygunner will win this and look very strong for the AI. Sars are complete outsiders for Munster at 20/1. Not happening sorry

Im afraid we're gone past hope at this stage. Christ Almighty.

Didnt see the game as i was another one. But ffs, thats an appalling scoreline for the champions of Cork. Senior Hurling. I believe the game was over after 10 minutes!!!

Even allowing for the fact that Ballygunner are probably the best club side in Ireland and would beat 70% of the county teams, thats a sad reflection of where our Senior Championship is at, even after the positive changes brought in 3/4 years ago. It seemed to have worked in the main, the clubs are happy but this result should send shockwaves across the county. At Senior level its clearly not working - the Cork Champions are only above Kerry atm. Fucking hell.

This needs urgent action, hurling is still like a non contact sport down here.

I wouldn't loose any sleep over it Tipp. I watched a 'biteen' of it after the Ahabullogue match.
I'm tired of saying this new 'hurling' is nothing more than rugby with sticks and conditions were simply dreadful. It's not a game for TV anyway as the 'balleen' cannot be seen 90% of the time and this stuff today was yuk stuff x 100.
