Re: Cork senior football team 2022
White smoke from the Cork football panel.
Did I not see a headline in the Echo yesterday suggesting Sherlock was back?
Dublin playing Meat later and if they win, Cork will be playing D2 next year. Not that it wasnt going to happen
Incidently, this is a repeat of the 1957 AI final in which Louth, wearing Green, beat Cork, wearing Blue, by 1-9 to 1-7. Paddy Harrington, father of Pádraig, was half back for Cork. I believe the game tomorrow is a sell out

0-6 to 0-2 to Cork. Sounds grim, Louth playing their usual bullshit of EVERYBODY behind the ball. Seán Meehan and Stephen Sherlock started.

How things change. Miss 3 goal chances, concede 1-2 and now down to 14.

By my calculations, Cork have missed FIVE clear goal chances

Awful. Louth scored the last 5 scores unanswered.

Amazing that Cleary didn't introduce a defender in the 2 nd half after O Mahony get red.
It looks like they didn't burst a gut in Ardee after the Dubs secured our Division 2 status.
Kevin O Donovan, Paul Ring and Cian Kiely must be wondering why they didn't get the call in the 2nd half.
Listening to a decent commentary on LMFM until the feckin thing
broke down with 10 minutes left.
Looks like Deane has confirmed that he's not a scoring forward and Chris Og missed another close in one going low.
Hard to teach an old dog new tricks.

While it wasnt exactly a must win game, to me it sounds like they got a couple of things wrong on the line and in front of goal, frustrating when that happens. Bringing on subs in injury time is a waste of time imo. Hopefully they've learnt a few things aboutb the lads today. The natives sounded happy anyway.

I think the management have improved things from the last few years but the improvement is smaller then it looked. I cannot understand how far down the pecking order Kevin o’donovan has gone, our use of subs this year with the same crew - Cronin, Merritt, kiely
Coming on so late must be puzzling, we have used very few players coming into a championship in which squad depth will be tested, o think we need to beat Derry to keep some degree of momentum, like always with cork football I am left with a ? as to our actual status

Agree 100 % Sean. It must be tempting for a Cork sub to tell Cleary to PFO and stop wasting my time.

My reaction was the same as already stated here. Subs must be wondering what the hell impact can I make with only a minute or 2 of injury time left. One gets the feeling that MGMT forget to keep an eye on the watch.
Also, as an ex corner forward myself, Cork players need to realise that there is no need to break the net when going for goal. Accuracy over power every time. Ask Colm Cooper

Hard to comment without seeing it.
5 missed goals and a red card will test you, though.
They're not excuses, they're controllable factors.
