Re: Cork Senior Hurling 2024
Not sure about Robbie O'Flynn at full-forward. The first time I saw him play for Cork he was right corner, cutting in towards goals. But maybe he's the the third midfielder?

Re: Cork Senior Hurling 2024
panel along expected lines tbf..... still a fair degree of over loyalty to a few in my eyes...
Biggest miss for me on dropping is definitely sam quirke.... i know he had a lot of injuries during club county championship this yr but still think he could do a job for us around midfield... he could be our daragh o donovan....good intelligent hurler with good stick work and a good link man.... if daragh o donovans height isn't an issue neither should quirkes
ditto with brian o sullivan from kanturk, very similar player to quirke could do a job for us around the middle..... by all accounts attitude wasn't great from him last yr as was demanding game time in the wrong manner so they just cut him last yr.... no qualms about that as the attitude in the camp was the first think they had to go about changing.... i just hope they don't rule him out for yrs to come over one mistake from a young fella....
Going forward this yr really think seán twomey, jack o connor, conor cahalane and eoin roche have to show more this yr or they could be in the firing line too next.... been on the panel for yrs now and haven't pushed on.....
Will need to make room for william buckley, diarmuid healy, shane kingston and daragh o sullivan in 2025 panel... cremin could be a bolter there too
and adam o sullivan, timmy wilk and ross o sullivan for 2026 panel... imagine lehane harnedy and hoggie could be gone by then
Delighted with the choice of the 4 lads from last yrs u20 panel in cunningham, mullins, saunderson and downey...theyre the ones id of taken too
Hope management put emphasis on giving game time to the players from the three all ireland winning u20 teams instead of the 2 losing all ireland u21 teams from denis rings era...... we need the guys who can psychologically win and get over the lines in games...the manner of those 2 all ireland loses to tipperary under cahill still haunt me to this day....both lost in two different but equally horrible ways....
Finally now that colin walsh kanturk isn't on the panel you'd think the footballers would get him in, would be a great addition and would offer size and athleticism, was a good cork minor for us raw but affective........ but i have no faith in that cork management team to have the foresight to do such an intelligent thing so would be shocked to see it happen, just makes too much sense

I suppose the idea is to produce a team which can win a game. I think it's a mixture of old, middle-aged (hurling-wise) and young, which is the natural progression of anything. New buds are appearing. I think Ryan has a definite idea of the sort of half-back line he wants. Mark Coleman has yet to make an appearance, though. I thought he was a superb number 7 until Kieran Kingston messed him about, trying to turn him into the hurling version of the American Football Quarter Back. I sincerely hope he can revert to what he was.

Has the wind turned around or something? This so far is as bad a 2nd half as I've ever seen. We're all over the shop,, Clare doing as they plesse. Clare will score 0-26 at least so Cork need 5 goals. Forget it

Flashes here and there but just like last year (and our footballers), these 15 minute spells in both halves were we do absolutely fuck all while conceding 1-5 are killing us. Playing catch up then and it's too late
What a day for our Seniors
The sooner we get back to our rugby pitch Supervalu Park and bate the shit outta everyone, the better

Never a truer word. Cork nowhere near physical enough. Part of winning any game is stopping the other team from playing; constant pressure is needed. Cork gave Clare far too much room to do as they liked.
