Beat me to it Ranty.
Both teams into a semi final irrespective of result tomorrow night so a bit of a free hit.
I believe Cork are missing 5 starters

Were doing so well up to the 23rd minute and gave away 3 points and kickouts to Kerry.
Id be telling those young fellas at halftime that they are every bit as good as Kerry and that they can win this game

Re: Cork Minor Football
I could have predicted this beforehand - a close defeat.
Christ, will it ever bloody end!?!?
Kerry were more fluid and faster in transition. Just like their 20s. Cork just couldn't get their noses in front despite a valiant effort. Theyll need more scorers going forward to trouble Kerry again, totally reliant on O'Neill from Carbery Rangers who looks a fine player.
They may not win an AI but Cork look an honest, hard working team who all know their role and will fight to the end.
I'd fancy another whack off that Kerry team back in our patch with a few players back

Re: Cork Minor Football
You'll be disappointed again Tipp if they don't change the keeper.
That poor lad from Kilshannig will have to go. He took 20 kickouts tonight and landed 12 of them straight into a Kerry 'bachall'.
Have to say our MF wouldn't win an argument but there's ways around that when it was so obvious.
Haulie & Co stand indicted too for not introducing O Flaherty at HT. If he's good enough to be sub keeper, he's good enough to replace a lad who's out of touch.
Looks like Kerry have found another sparkling forward in White from the Mitchells.
Dylan O Neill has all the tricks and if he gets a bit more muscle he will be good.
Afraid O Dwyer might be a better rugby player even if he did win a penalty which Miskella slotted beautifully.
Once again Morrissey from Watherfooord displayed his ignorance of the rules. Kerry can push in the back all day and not be penalised. Cork lads penalised for not releasing he ball three or four times while being assaulted and held by groups of Kerrymen.
We fouled them 14 times and they fouled us 23 times with impunity apart from the penalty.
They are coached exactly like their seniors. Don't let the opposition build up attacks from the back. Take cards all day and get away with a large percentage of personal fouls.
Our ladeens will never play like that because they don't know how and if they do try it they get caught.
Gimme a break.

We go again. Can we please win a match?! Clare bringing our fellas all the way back to Quily near Miltown Malbay, an auld trick they always pull
THE CORK minor footballers have named the same starting 15 that lost to Kerry last week for Tuesday's Munster semi-final away to Clare.
Haulie O’Sullivan and his selectors have made changes to the squad though, with captain Niall O'Shea from Urhan available, Ballinora's Jack Trench, Ben Delaney (Carrigaline) and Castlehaven't Niall O'Callaghan all called up.
Denjoe O’Riordan (Kilshannig);
Oisín Harrington (Kilmeen), Aaron Keane (Kinsale), Joe Mouret (Douglas);
Cathal McCarthy (St Colum’s), Cian O’Connor (Ballincollig), Cian Ahern (Ballincollig);
Harry Cogan (Glanmire), Ben O’Shea (Mallow);
Danny Miskella (Ballincollig), Danny O’Donovan (Castlehaven), Seán Whelton (St James’);
Humphrey Canty (Newcestown), Finn O’Dwyer (Cullen), Dylan O’Neill (Carbery Rangers).
Subs:
James O’Flaherty (Douglas), Cian Cooney (Clyda Rovers), Niall O'Shea (Urhan, c), Niall O'Callaghan (Castlehaven), Billy Ryan (Glenville), Daniel Mellerick (Nemo Rangers), Jack Trench (Ballinora), Ben Delaney (Carrigaline), Pádraig McGrath (Douglas).

Re: Cork Minor Football
Strange selection in many ways. It is of course nice to give young lads another chance but nice wins SFA.
Euan Lehane from Donenys was a sub v Kerry and came on in the 2nd half. He was the only Cork player to run at Kerry and showed plenty football ability. Gone completely now.
Also gone Padraig McGrath, Douglas, Sean Murphy, Eire Og,
Dara O Sullivan, Nemo.
I find it difficult to understand how so many players are discarded from the subs when a few of the starting team didn't exactly shine in Tralee last week.
Anyway TG4 will have at least one camera in Quilty and you'd never know Marty might appear on screen.

HT 1-7 to 0-1 against 14 men Clare.
It would be a lot worse only for Timmy McGrath from Limerick.
In this half he gave Clare 16 frees, most of them iffy and some of them downright smelly.
As an afterthought he gave us 5. Thanks Timmy.
I didn't see what Clare's No 8 Aidan Weaver did to merit a RED on 21 minutes, as there wasn't any Corkman lying prostrate or bleeding from the nose.
In any case I can't watch any more of this stuff as there's a foreign game about to start in Paris.

You mean the Eurovision Ranty? Didnt think you'd be into that, a Corkwoman no less. Or a man. Or a woman known as a man, or a they or some shit. Looked like the devil to me.
Anwway, finished 1-13 to 0-8 to Cork and Kerry won as well so all down to next Monday night in Cork (?). I believe its BEO on TG4.

Jasus Tipp, I didn't even know the Eurovision was on. I'm glad I missed it if it's anything like the sh one T they play in Páirc Uí Super Value.
Back to Quilty. Timmy was at it again in the 2nd half. 15 frees to Clare and 8 to Cork.
That shows what a filthy bunch of young lads Haulie has gathered together. They fouled Clare 31 times and got 2 Yellow cards while those meek and mild Banner chaps broke the rules only 13 times.
No point in commenting on the game, if you can call it a game other than to say Din Joe took 11 restarts tonight and lost zero.
Lets hope he can repeat that against Kerry and we find a reliable free taker.
We have a sporting chance but I'm not betting on it.

O.......M.......G. 2-18 to 1-6.
How come about 20 17 yr old young lads from Kerry who play football are bigger, stronger, faster, smarter than 17yr old young lads from a county with 4 or 5 times the population of Kerry.
Development squads, five year plans, Corkness and all the other ráméis we've been fed sticks in the crá after another embarrassing evening in the hallowed stadium named after Christy Ring.
I'm not blaming the young rebels at all, but we have to question the GAA powers that be in Cork and whatever system they employ to pick players and managers of our young footballers.
I've been watching and supporting Cork football teams for a long time but tonight's game was a new low for Cork football.

Another hammering at the hands of our footballing masters from across the boarder.
Kerry are just pissing all over and laughing at Cork. Utter domination at Club and Intercounty at all levels.
One fella on Kerry forum is shouting "Orgasmic football!" and look at the state of us then in comparsion. We have reached nadir

Re: Cork Minor Football
Taking an overall view of cork football at the moment and it is very very bleak over the next few years. Tonight was a disaster for the young fellas themselves and hopefully they can come again, however at u17 level there should not be this difference between cork and Kerry ; everything skills, movement, conditioning, tact’s Kerry were way better.
Couple that with the last couple of years at u20 when’re again cork were destroyed tactically, physically and football wise and you wonder what is coming through.
To top it off we have an average division 2 senior team with a serious age profile problem and almost zero development of players u23 on that squad……hard times coming, we’re not serious about this game

Tipp........Castlehaven did beat Dingle not so long ago either. It's the development of our young
footballers that I'm questioning. With any kind of a half decent interest in the game we should surely find garsúns able to compete physically with Kerry or any other county. The vast majority of that team tonight looked like 14 year olds in comparison to Kerry lads, some of whom looked like men.

My answer to your question is related to the product. Gaelic football is clearly not important in Cork or at least
important enough to merit a dedicated football board. The outpouring of sentiment in the Páirc after the Limerick game
was all the evidence we need to show why football is just a nuisance in the hearts and minds of Cork's youth.
It's not about to change anytime soon either, unless Jarlath Burns, Jim Gavin and this new think tank group come up with
a new game that's watchable, with rules that are enforceable.
On that last point yer man O Mahony from Limerick with the whistle didn't help any cause by issuing Yellow cards and even
a Black to O Neill for a jersey pull. He doesn't even look like a referee, but that's fine by the GAA.

Re: Cork Minor Football
I was in the shed and the difference in instructions bellowing out from the respective benches told its own story. Cork management had next to no instructions to offer in the first half when it was clear we were in deep trouble, and not much else either in terms of encouragement to try get some bit of spark into the game. I thought it was very disappointing for a group of kids who are getting a chastening defeat on national television.
The silver lining I can think of is that it's better to take a battering like that and for change to happen, rather than lose by 6 points or whatever and persist with the same people overseeing things for another year at least. I can't confess to knowing enough about rebel óg and what it entails to pinpoint where its going wrong, but the results at minor over the last decade clearly show its not up to standard. Minor is the level where the superior playing numbers in the county should count for most, yet that's a hammering against a county with a considerably smaller pick. The other consolation I can think of is that Clare minor hurlers took a 40 point defeat off Cork three years ago but have rapidly turned things around at underage, and have generally had it over Cork, since getting some whizzkid from UL in to oversee things - surely with all the people involved in Cork GAA and the two third level institutions, there is a similar figure within the county bounds?

I seriously worry about the standard of coaches involved with all county teams in Cork. That's in both codes. This problem has to be recognised at county board level and immediate action has to be taken. There is no reason whatsoever that there should be such a huge difference between 20 Un.17s from Kerry and 20 Un.17s from Cork like we saw last night. Is it time we brought in established outside coaches to coach our own county coaches when they are appointed. Just an idea but we cannot keep doing the same thing as it is not working.

Sorry guys, but the future is bleak. The sheer incompetence of that minor team last night is not the fault of the young lads. Lack of basic skills coaching was glaring. I've seen it suggested that they froze on the night and we must hope that there's truth in that, but the size and physicality of the Kerry lads tells a different story. I'm told they do gym sessions three times a week in addition to their football coaching.
I'm also told that at least half of them are under age for next year but they didn't look like 16 yr olds to me anyway.
West Kerry.......Dingle, Coláiste Íde
Tralee.......two more football nurseries, The Green and Mounthawk.
