Probably best to let last night's non event die a death here and elsewhere but 'Dhá Lámh's' comment above on ref Jonathan Hayes and his laughable effort at being impartial needs expanding.
The match programme has a picture and full page profile of 'yer man' and his many exploits since he started reffing in 2016 and getting on the Munster panel in 2019.
One of the questions he was asked sounds even funnier today
"What is your funniest moment since taking up the whistle"?
" Ending up on my backside in a couple of games due to slipping or being knocked by players"

This lad is a pure 'drama queen', as before the game he did a lengthy push up session in mid field, displaying his awesome physical attributes and then proceeded to constantly get in the way and disrupt a football game between young lads.
His job title is Warehouse Coordinator in a Limerick Lifesciences factory but I wouldn't trust him to put my tablets in the correct shelf or bay.

Ultimately and most recently I've noticed that those drawn to refereeing have a need to feel important and in control. Before people refereed to give a service, to help out the wider GAA movement. Recently it's people out to be a known figure or even a sporting influencer

You are spot on there bitter. I know a few of them and the lift isn't going all the way to the top floor in them.
Obviously there are many solid sound guys but it's a great opportunity for proper twits to flex their 'whatamacallits'.

What are we talking about the ref for? Cork didn't score from play in the entire match - that wasn't the refs fault

Nobody said it was the refs fault Tipp. Sure we can't talk about the game as we were leading 3 points to 2 after 15 minutes and scored
2 more minors from there to the end. That's 2 points in 50 minutes.
You can blame me for the ref talk as the game was a non event and Hayes was so bad that he was comical and I thought you'd like to know
a bit about him. Laughing

Completely revamped and necessary.
Glad to see last weeks No 2 young Daly at No 6 where his football skills can be shown.
His place now taken by Bantry man Mark O Sullivan who was a used sub No 18 last week.
Last weeks No 5 Shane O Connell now a sub and his place goes to Dara O Donovan Bishopstown who was a used sub No 23 last week. He did impress when he came on.
Mid field changed as well. No 8 Colm Geary Kilshannig was an unused No 21 sub last week. Strange one that as we struggled at MF last week. Better late than never I suppose. Captain Gillespie No 9 hold his place despite being hauled ashore last week after 50 mins. Perhaps he was injured or just out of gas.?
The big changes up front are interesting. Young Ed Myers at No 11 was a used sub No 22 last week but the most interesting move is last week's No 11 Brian Hayes now at No 13, joining Kearney and O Donovan.
They are all good forwards but if they don't get ball as happened last week, we won't bate Tipp or anyone else.
As far as I can see the only new player is sub No 21 Sean Coakley Douglas.

Started very well to the point that the game is now over after that second goal. Obviously Tipp are no Kerry but what's noticeable is the increased use of kick passing therefore moving the ball much faster. Can't ask for anymore than what they've done so far, 13 points up

Our football expert Ranty will answer that but I'm pretty sure Cork bate Kerry last year in PUC so I'm guessing away game.

Anyway, that was better ableit against weaker opposition. Great start, not so great in the middle when Tipp made a game of it but finished well. Lots more kick passing. Kickouts still not there yet and you can imagine Kerry will be on top there again in the final so be ready for more pain there.

Tonight was about winning and they did that. They now get a free hit against Kerry and can give it a right go knowing that they'll still be in the championship afterwards.

That lad Ed Myers looks like a lovely footballer

Football expert me?  Far from it, but I'm a Cork football addict for a few reasons and I cant see the point of looking at hurling when I can't see the ball and there's no rules other than the maky up ones by the whistlers.

Anyway back to the minor footballers.    The Kerry commentator with the lovely Gaeltacht blas did say " Níl an ionad socraithe fós" in between fawning over Myers.   I'm amazed he didn't tell us that Myers is closely related to The Gooch?   If it was Palmer he would.
Myers 1-5
Hayes 1-5 (4F) (1 45)
O Connell 1-0
O Donovan 0-6  (2f)
Subs Coakley and Ben O Sullivan 0-1 each and Gillesbie and Kearney 0-1 each

That's the good news but there was plenty Tralee stuff too.   There was a 15 minute period in that game where we couldn't get our hands on the ball and another fussy Ref Niall Quinn from Clare.   He should have watched the Dubs v Kildare last night where the ref allowed the young lads to play a game of football and didn't penalise them for minor indiscretions.    This lad gave Cullinane, Dara O Donovan and Alan O Connell YELLOW cards for touching the Tipp lads who were all charging forward and abusing the steps rule every time.   I despair of these feckers with whistles as they constantly come the heavy on Cork because....................I forget the rest of it lol.

I hate picking on anybody after such a big win but keeper Woods is a disaster with his restarts.    Perhaps it's not all his fault as it seems there is no strategy in place and he literally gave the feckin ball to Tipp all night long.    He then did a Beggan or Morgan for the last 10 minutes when the game was over, and spent his time around the half back line.  This is lunacy and Kerry would pounce on any slip up and bury it in the net.

For those reading this who don't understand Gaelge, The venue v Kerry hasn't been fixed, or so yer man said.    They will definitely do better next time against Kerry but I wouldn't back them to win it.

Watched it again this morning or at least the 1st half.
The happy whistler Quinn gave young Daly No 6 a YELLOW card for sticking out his arm
to hinder the progress of a Tipp player. Sweet mother of Jesus where do they get these
people? I missed that in real time.
Yes I know I shouldn't be harping on about refs but it needs saying. We've had two
beauties so far but there are good refs out there only to find them and train them properly.

Very disappointed from a Tipp point of view because this was a very good Tipp team who were well coached and organised and which had a very good spirit in the camp.

They had played very well throughout the campaign,

Cork, however, got a very good start and the rest,as they say,is history.

And Cork are obviously better than their performance against Kerry suggested.

Best of luck to Cork in the final.

Hope you are right Skyblue because the second half show against Kerry was putrid.
Hard to gauge form with 17 year olds but if we can improve on the restarts we will
give Kerry a good run.
They may not be as cocky in P Ui Rinn as they were in Tralee either, but I'm told they
have three more lads to come into their team who will improve it.

Was told yesterday,by a guy who would know, that Cork made 8 changes to the team who were bet by Kerry for the Tipp match?

They actually made 12 changes from the Kerry game Skyblue,
1 Sub Mark O Sullivan in to No 2
2 Sub Dara O Donovan in to No 5
3 Last weeks No 2 moved to No 6
4 Sub Colm Geary in to No 8
5 Last weeks No 9 moved to No 12
6 " " N0 15 " " No 10
7 Sub Ed Myers in to No 11
8 Last weeks No 11 moved in to No 13
9 Last weeks No 13 moved to No 14
10 Last weeks No 14 moved to No 15
11 New sub No 19 Kieran McCarthy and used
12 New sub No 24 Ben O Sullivan and used.

The replay with Kerry next week will tell us if this revamp improves the team. Pray brethren.
