Re: Cork Minor Hurling
Looking at the table on the Munster website, Cork and Waterford are the only teams to have played 3 games thus far. Cork's points against (47) in the second highest to Waterford's (74). That may be a bit of a worry going forward. Our score difference over Clare is slim (+17 to +15), although it's healthy enough over Tipperary.

Re: Cork Minor Hurling
When you look at it, Cork are doing the right thing with their approach.
They are exposing 4 times as many players to high class action as each of the 4 other teams they played yesterday.
Down, Kilkenny, Dublin and Galway have only 1 team each so those results have to be taken in context.
They probably wont win the thing but they are taking the long view on this and hopefully going to lift our standards, after all we need all the help we can get

Would love to see a no nonsense, aggressive display of hurling from this team tomorrow night, every player going for the ball as if their life depended on it.
Best of luck young rebels.

Re: Cork Minor Hurling
This one is very tight.
Corks shooting was shocking early on but has improved a bit. I just get the feeling Clare are getting their scores a bit easier which is never a good sign.
That full forward butchered a few early chances but has a nice score from play since.
Is like to see more ball into the FF line. What is it with Cork hurling teams that we dont give/deliver ball to that line? They're all at it ffs.
If we could just score a goal it would help big time.
Need to put the shackles on the Clare no 15 Murphy, looks a great player

Half time:
Cork 0-12; Clare 1-9
The goal was bit unfortunate in that the goalkeeper saved the initial shot, but the rebound was scored. And it came just seconds after Cork had fecked up a great goal chance of their own.

What is it with Cork and puckouts?
THREE Clare points have come direct from the keeper going short but pucking it straight to a Clare player who says thanks and over the bar.
Clare look a bit slicker now, I expect them to win
We host CANNOT win any puckouts

Make that 4 puckouts.
Think keeper will cost us the game.
Now where have we seen that before

Re: Cork Minor Hurling
Another sobering night for Cork hurling, this time at home
Clare too good in the end. In fact it was a sorry Cork team by the end, they got thought a lesson. Meyler is not the man for the job.
This Cork team won't win anything.
Clare had forwards who could score.
We had forwards who couldnt score. Once Mark O'Brien is outta it, Cork have nothing.
As for the puckouts, we are at nothing. We can't puck them, we can't win them.
This shit has to be examined within the county. We cannot continue with this short puckouts nonsense. The 20s are at it as well, trying to handpass and triangle their way up the pitch and running into turnover after turnover

Another demonstration of a small GAA county compared to Cork in terms of clubs and GAA population showing us how its done... Based on the full system fails across the levels from senior down, I can only conclude our youth county wide are not getting the right coaching

To be fair, TAN, the Clare poster on PROC, pointed out that Cork's sheer numbers may be a curse rather than a blessing, as players not performing may be discarded too quickly, particularly in their underage days. I've felt the same about it myself for a long time.

Re: Cork Minor Hurling
Tried to watch it on Youtube but as usual the ball/sliotar was invisible 90% of the time.
I doubt if that young lad from Glen Rovers will hold on to that jersey.
Looks like he froze on the night, but that's understandable.
The shining light again was Mark O Brien from Douglas.

Re: Cork Minor Hurling
Deja Vu I'm afraid - Cork Hurling (and it pains me to say it) is just toxic at the moment - It's obvious to everyone that Rebel Og is a complete disaster - I know I'm repeating myself, but how did this Manager get this job - Its a County Board issue that has to be addressed and the sooner the better.
We bate Clare by 40 points three years ago in the Minors and now look at them - We should take a leaf out of their training regimes - Again, the same issues keep occurring - Unable to catch a ball over their heads and of course the "dirty ball syndrome" - I can recall only on one occasion that we came out with the sliothar from a ruck - Easy to address I think, but we're not f.ing doing it - What the f is going on in there
Very pessimistic on the future of Cork Hurling - Anyway, roll onto tomorrow night and take us out of our misery and then perhaps the powers that be, may take a long look at what direction Cork Hurling should be going

East Cork won that on Saturday
Tipperary beat Clare tonight in the Munster Minor final by 7 points
I can't see Cork beating either of them if we play them again

The form line isn't looking to good on this one with Galway hammering Waterford in the first game, 2-16 to 1-6.

I can see it already. Total control, 80%, possession but wides, wides, wides, wides. Wexford 4 attacks, 4 scores.

This is as bad a Cork minor team I've seen in a while. Wexford far too good for em. Especially up front.
Cork have NO forwards who can score.
Season will be over by 5.15

Re: Cork Minor Hurling
A result like this was predestined from the moment this manager was chosen. John Myeler has never won an All-Ireland title with any Cork team; in fact he has never even reached an All-Ireland final with them. Were the county board that bereft of options?
