Re: Cork Minor Hurling
1-9 apiece but only got going late on, were 6 down.
THIRTEEN wides by my count. Plenty possession. They like the handpassing. Clare are up for it, hounding the Cork players just like their Seniors. At times looks like Cork not ready for that.
Is like to see the HB line tighten up, far too loose.
And the danger man Ross O Sullivan is completely underutilised, need to feed him direct

Playing like our seniors. Short puckouts spilled, buried by Clare. It's actually sickening to watch.
WHO THE FUCK IS GETTING ALL OUR TEAMS TO PLAY THIS KAMIKAZIE STUFF???

Re: Cork Minor Hurling
Lost by a goal that they gifted to Clare. How apt.
Still though, a magnificent effort to push a big hurling county like Clare to 3 points. Cork hurling is on the up judging by that. We might even get to challenge the likes of Offaly and Westmeath within the next 3 years if we can keep up the good work.

Re: Cork Minor Hurling
When was the last time Clare beat cork at minor in cork as a matter of interest? Don’t worry anyway the ccb master plan is to keep rotating coaches up the grades, absolutely working a treat.
Anyway hard luck to the young lads, certainly didn’t give up at least but never led once which tells its own story, Clare better coached and set up imo

I for one am glad we're out of everything by early May (surely a record). Sick shit of spending my evenings watching poorly coached hyped up Cork teams getting beat and handing opposition score upon score upon score. Fuck that.
We have no concept of how to compete at intercounty anymore. What a year

Re: Cork Minor Hurling
Tippy tappy hurling is like a cancer across Cork inter county teams presently. Short puck outs a disaster, cannot get on a breaking ball, cannot win a ruck if our lives depended on it. When all this is over there would want to be a serious think-in in relation to the present state of coaching in Cork inter county circles. You would certainly at this stage question the quality of the coaches involved at inter county level. Its been a disastrous few weeks for Cork hurling.

If questions aren't asked at the top table about Cork hurling after this disaster or a season, they never will.

Re: Cork Minor Hurling
I remember them saying on PremierView last year that most of their minor players were well underage and they expected better things this year. Certainly they still look very young.
It was a great game to watch, and very physical for that age group. Offaly also looked very good and seemed the better team for much of the match. It looks like Offaly hurling is also on the way back.

Re: Cork Minor Hurling
I think Fraggies a good appointment, comes across knowledgeable and very likeable also on the Examiner commentary- it’s important that the lads will like him and want to play for him
I’m surprised through he hasn’t thrown his name back in for SARS ? Surely Myers is done there now after the last 2 years
Thankfully Murray overlooked, what an odious man

I heard that clubs in Cork are being canvassed on this with a options on the table.
1. U17 and not allowed play adult
2. U18 and not allowed play adult
3. Individual counties make up their own rules.
Any ideas? I'd stay away from 3 anyway first off

Re: Cork Minor Hurling
Any insight into the minors this year? playing Galway at 12 on Sunday.
I was told by a steward it’s not that it’s behind closed doors but it’s not being overly publicized as the stadium just won’t be fully manned that early
I’d love to have a look but I don’t think I’d manager a triple header

Supposed to be raining from noon tomorrow, twill put a dampner on any triple header, will it take 3 matches?

Cork 2-11, Waterford 0-10 at halftime, I'm only following it on twitter but they seem to be matching each other for scores bar the 2 goals, two cracking goals by all accounts. Cork in a strong position now, drive it on

Ya job done, 3-19 to 0-15. The 2 Barry's, O'Flynn with 1-7 and Walsh with 2-5 the main scorers.
Things get harder from here though.
Limerick beat Clare in the other game 2-20 to 0-22, bit of a surprise there apparently.
Cork play Tipperary next Tuesday

Re: Cork Minor Hurling
Was at the game, a good start but wouldn't be getting carried away, sterner tests to come starting with next wk v tipp
Our first touch was much better than last yrs minor team, seem to be better coached, they put a big emphasis on breaking the high ball around the middle then fighting for it in the rucks, good to see us concentrating on winning ruck ball as its been a major weakness in all our teams for some time...
Would still like to see half back line try and pluck a few balls out of the air tho, our half forward line did try and grabbed a few in fairness
Same with all our forward lines the forwards are playing as individuals, no link up play between em to work goals, as soon as they got it they were looking for a point, that attitude can't continue to go on in our teams in the modern game.... o flynn was excellent but out of the 1-7 he socred there was a goal on for about 5 of those if he looked and passed it or took on the man, hard to be critical of him but tired of our forwards taking the handy point
The two goals were briliant finishes and went for juggular so we can do it..... they were needed too as waterford just would not go away, theyre shooting efficiency was crazy, they had only 2wides in first 50 mins
Good win, more to work on, fraggie was very animated and driven on the line which was great to see, we don't see enough of that drive and competitveness from managements on the line like sheedy cody and davey.... and most importantly he wasn't just encouraging lads he was coaching them, telling em what they should have done or what to do next time
