When i looked at the replay of the fucked up kickout, initially i didnt see the Louth player who came in and tackled...i wonder did he see him in the black jersey?

Well I’m in the same boat but I really thought it was an awful option from Martin, for a shot kick out it’s the keeper who can see everything and needs to be on the button, here we are in 2023 and again we are entering a game Vs Kerry with one single option for kickouts, a floater to an overload on the left hand side……it’s fucking appalling, you’d wonder what the great coach from Galway is doing
Anyway 24 points 2 years ago, 12 points last year, can we keep it to 6 points this year? I’m not sure I worry this squad think beating Louth was enough subconsciously

I suppose when you study it properly the fault lies with Micheál A but I looked at it a few times and D O M was signalling to him. He should have ignored him I suppose but who's perfect.
I've watched a lot of the other games and our man is not alone in the blunder market. Cluxton has no equal and we will have to stick with Ml.A.Martin for now and he is a good keeper otherwise.
With David Moran gone from Kerry, we can win the MF battle on Saturday and despite those results in recent years I think we have a decent chance of shaking it.

Here it is.  The long awaited team to face Kerry tomorrow.   Rory Maguire at No 3 is odd but we all know he won't be marking D.C.   I'm glad he's available and he could well have the pace to limit the other Clifford búachaill.   Corbett replaced on the bench by Fionn Herlihy which is not a huge surprise and Flahive will be needed in defence at some stage.   Fingers crossed that the Kerry heads will be down as they trudge up Temple Hill at 4.30 pm to their Morris Minors parked in Cork Con.

I have a funny feeling this won't be the pushover we all think. Cork stroke me as a team that fail to deal with lesser teams but raise their game for the better ones.

I agree, but only if they manage to rattle Paudie Clifford early on like Aidan O Shea did last week. O Shea
shook a few of Paudie's ancestors with a fair and honest rattle that took the wind out of him. If he gets too much possession he'll find the 'brudder' and that's us goosed.
David Clifford is a freak and is unmarkable in today's game as the dark arts are history. He's well able for the heavy stuff too if necessary.
I'd love to see Powter stuck on to Paudie as I feel he's our only man capable of limiting him.

OK, my knowledge of Kerry football is limited to Clifford x2 and Seán Ó Shea. Hes a serious footballer, same age as Clifford jnr and came right up through the grades with him. He'll need minding as well.

We have plenty lads to mind Seanie the shaper. Free taker is his best attribute and we have his number.

Fit? Anyway I can tell you straight off the first 4 subs: kiely, o’rourke, mcsweeney and Sherlock. The rest are waiting their time imo as it’s clear this management are only playing with a 20 man squad.
Herlihy for Corbett is bizarre unless Corbett is injured, he is an absolute class scoring forward whereas herihy is a hard running decent player broadly similar to the 3 starting half forward and o’rourke and mcsweeney who all try hard but don’t score enough Vs decent defences.
I also wonder at the automatic starting jones gets every game despite his scoring being average, I know he works hard but that’s a given at this stage…..anyway any team at this level without a kickout strategy or a guarantee of winning 80% of restarts is on big trouble, I wouldn’t mind but I think for the first time in a long time cork could match up Vs Kerry at midfield but our coach from Galway plays an out of date conservative pressing game where cork give up short kickouts….Kerry will kill is doing this and I expect them to win by 6-8 points.
This isn’t our best team available, we are too conservative in selection and tactics and this team haven’t proven to me that they have the will or ability to go to the well Vs a top team. Imo of course
I expect this performance to mirror the Louth league game where after relegation was safely escaped the performance dropped like a stone in the next game

The amount of times Deane has lost the ball in their half is incredible, you would think he is a debutant, he hasn’t improved as a footballer that’s for sure anyway

I wish I had an excited halftime post but I'm afraid I dont. Not only are Cork so limited, so is the game of Gaelic Football.

They have scoring forwards and we dont. Simple as that. Wed be AI champions if we had a football brain. Our only chance is a breakaway goal and even Chris Óg butchered that.

Everything is so pedestrian and predictable. This has 2-20 to 0-12 or similar written all over it

What a fucking mistake cleary has made by reaching back for these fellas who failed previously and not continuing with the investment in youth, what a fucking another waste of a year watching Deane run up blind alleys unable to kick a ball 20 metres and Hurley going red inside without a ball going on and Martin making every kickout a lottery
