Oh to have a scoring forward like Ryan O Donghue, he gave an exhibition yesterday against Dublin

He could bring the 'Talent Identification Manager' with him, that's if he can find him/her.
Hard to credit that any group could make that list of unrealistic claims/promises back in 2019.
Cubby with his power point presentations should have started with his own club.
I firmly believe that the raw material is in the county just waiting for a sensible approach
by somebody with a football/coaching brain.

The layout of the football team is getting beyond a joke these days. It's always justified which makes a mess of the layout, and for some reason the number 8 appears as an emoticon. Someone acting the mickey on the Cork GAA site.

No surprises as expected but the Cathal O Mahony calls are strange. He wasn't good enough to be named on the subs last Thursday but deemed good enough to play on Saturday and now not good enough to make the subs again. What I am hearing he has been poor at training. Alot of eyebrows were raised within the camp when he was introduced last Saturday.

This is very strange. O'Mahoney is the kind of player Cork is crying out for...well, at least the O'Mahoney pre-injury.
We've waited a long time to get him back, he gets a sniff of action last week to ease him in...and then gone.
What can he have done so wrong in training in one week that sees him dumped off the panel completely.

We can forget about Mahoney if what we read over yonder is true.
Somebody posted that he played for Mitchelstown two days ago.
Again, treat with caution, as there's a few 'reichard ceanns' over there who like to stir the caca.

So wins for Galway over Monaghan (just), the always punching above their weight Roscommon over Tyrone and Derry beating poor Mayo (Mayo4Sam) on penalties in Castlebar in front of their own supporters.
Over to you Cork

Ian Maguire losing ball so far, responsible for 0-2 so far
I just cannot see us scoring enough. Unbelievablely limited and predictable. We'll do well to hit double figures

Much better since. Great pass from Maguire for the goal, some effort from Ó Mahony. Cork were on top but HT had come at wrong time. Ó Callaghan 0-3 from midfield, well done young man
Cork should really be winning this, Louth are toothless. Keep Mulroy outta it and we're halfway there

And just like that, as I suspected, we've lost control of the game after HT

Jesus, Louth with all the ball in the second half. When intensity levels rise we find it hard to match it. That screams a lack of leadership on the pitch TBH.

15 minutes of absolutely appalling football. Clueless shit and need a miracle here to turn this around. Something, anything.

1-4 to 0-1 in the second half... pathetic. But we lack players capable of scoring

Opened up a bit now but as usual we're missing goal chances, 2 missed, why didn't Jones go for goal. the usual. Bit of energy since subs came on. Cmon

Unbelievable stupidity. A kickable free to win the game, but no, let's kick it backwards for the millionth time today and try for Extra time. Turnover, break, foul, point, we're out
That's the end of Cleary anyway at least.

FFS.. I know Louth are a decent team but if we can't beat them then we have no right in the quarters. Probably only end up embarrassing ourselves anyway.

Gut-wrenching, to be fair. Mistakes cost us.
Why is it the end of Cleary? I hope not. I remember how things were before he came along.

It kind of sums up Cork football in a way. Jaw dropping decisions constantly from a group of players who have no on field leaders. Someone with balls and leadership should of barked at his players to step up and take the game. We don't have that.

Re: Cork senior football team 2022
Beyond brutal. No energy. No ideas. No ability to kick a straightforward free towards the goal. Twice we kicked scoreable frees backwards when the game was level. Absolutely shocking. Two mistakes from Kelly very costly but let’s face it, we were terrible. And almost unwatchable. Probably as well to be out of our misery as at that rate a quarter final would have been ugly.

Re: Cork senior football team 2022
Look at the age profile of this team and look at the key performances in the end from the older players…..cleary stuck with them and pissed off a bunch of younger players who now have zero experience, how a player with Taylor’s experience could make that tackle in the end would be hard to take except he has been doing this all year, like Deane being ineffective again, Hurley missing chances and giving away a fucking line ball for stepping over, like Maguire gassed out but no replacement, o’driscoll zero go forward…..how did powter not start

Cleary has got them fit and developed a very limited plan, he has failed miserably to develop younger players, hard to believe in 2024 thst Clancy, Deane, Hurley, o’driscoll, Maguire, Taylor would still be mainstays of the team despite being so
Limited
